We are delighted to announce that Goalball UK have chosen GoMembership as their membership management software provider.
Goalball UK is the national governing body for the sport - an inclusive, exciting, indoor, 3-aside team sport for blind and partially sighted people. Devised in 1946 to help rehabilitate soldiers who had lost their sight during the war, Goalball is played with an audible ball on a tactile court, and is growing in popularity throughout the world. Interest and participation in the sport escalated after its inclusion in the London 2012 Paralympics. Goalball UK already has over 30 competitive clubs playing the game and is expanding the game into the corporate world for its team building and communication skills benefits.
David Pring, Azolve CEO comments, “We are excited to be working with Goalball UK, helping them manage and connect with their growing membership base. We also look forward to their input on our mobile development plans to ensure compliance with disability accessibility guidelines.”
Mark Winder, CEO of Goalball UK, said: “Goalball is a small, but rapidly growing sport. Participation has increased 425% in the past five years making it essential that we can communicate effectively with players and coaches at our established and newly launched clubs.
GoMembership will help take the administrative pressure of our amazing volunteers, allowing them to spend more time doing what they do best – transforming the lives of blind and visually impaired people.”
